The Urban Botanics 5-Step Daily Regimen starts off with Category 1 (C1) – Cleansing. Because we believe you cannot cleanse your skin properly by putting ingredients on it that themselves need to be cleansed off, the Urban Botanics Facial Cleanser (C1), like all Urban Botanics products, is alcohol-free, paraben-free, proplylene glycol-free, and sulfate-free (sodium lauryl and laureth sulfates, ammonium lauryl and laureth sulfates). We believe that the ingredients you put on your skin should only have positive effects, and so we give you an exceptionally clean product line.
This cleanser is highly concentrated, requiring only a couple of drops mixed with water to cleanse the face. Using as much as a dime would be enough to wash the entire body, and it may be used for that, sprinkling it on a washcloth or loofa and washing as normal. The 8% Alpha Hydroxy Acid concentration is gentle enough for daily use, yet strong enough for more powerful exfoliation if desired. It could be left on the face for up to a minute or two, with caution. Those with more sensitive skin might have some temporary reddening of the face if left on that long. It settles down fairly quickly. Applying it to wet skin lessens this effect.
For the strongest effect, apply it to dry skin after mixing it in your palms with a few drops of water, and then let it sit on the skin for a minute or two. This will cause some drying and flaking of the skin, which will result in stronger exfoliation.
